Independent Living Fund Scotland -this includes the Transition Fund for young disabled people in Scotland aged 16-25 and the Independent Living Fund to support individuals with complex disabilities to live independently –
Voiceability – Independent Advocacy Support to access benefits administered by Social Security Scotland eg Adult Disability Payment and Child Disability Payment.
Help to apply can also be provided directly by Social Security Scotland, from your local Citizens Advice Bureau or from Welfare Rights officers – these might work for your local council or for a charity in your area, for example.
Help with paying for energy bills
If you are a member of a trade union or a professional body, it’s worth checking if they are able to pay you a grant in the event of a crisis eg losing your job, a health issue or unexpected cost meaning you are left in financial hardship.

If you are in danger of being made homeless, or have been made homeless, you can get advice from Shelter Scotland.
