The Autistic Library is a neurodiversity-affirmative online library for Autistic people and their supporters. It contains information not just about Autistic experience but also resources relating to topics such as advocacy, money, housing, travel and leisure, the kind of information needed for Autistic people to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
To browse each section, use the Browse the Library menu at the top of the page to access different topics.
It can be difficult to find information about Autism – or Autistic experience -that is truly neurodiversity-affirmative, for those people who wish to avoid the stigmatising and increasingly out-dated resources that are all too readily available. For this reason, I have collected a variety of resources here – books, videos, research papers and services that may help to provide more useful insights and access to services.
The library is a new and currently unfunded project still under development but I hope you will find helpful information here. If you buy books linked to the site, the library may earn a commission from Bookshop.org, whose fees support independent bookshops. The library may receive donations of books but does not get paid by organisations or individuals for inclusion on the website.
